1. GOD IS THE OWNER ...

For all the animals of field and forest are mine.  The cattle on a thousand hills ... for all the world is mine and everything in it.

Psalms 50: 10-12 (LIV)

For the earth and every good thing in it belongs to the Lord and is yours to enjoy.

/ Corinthians 10:26 (LIV)

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

/ Timothy 6:7 (KJ)

Conclusion ... God owns it all, including the house we live in, the car we drive, the bank accounts ... everything and He wants us to enjoy it.

 2. MAN IS A STEWARD ...

Definition ... A "steward" is one who manages that which belongs to another.

Moreover, it is required in stewards (managers) that a man be found faithful (true).

/ Corinthians 4:2 (KJ)

Conclusion ... We are managers. God requires us to be faithful (true) to God's Word and God's Way, including God's way to manage money.

 3. OUR PURPOSE IS TO GLORIFY GOD ...

If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; that God in all things may be glorified.  1Peter 4:11 (KJ)

I want you to trust me in your time of trouble, so I can rescue you, and you can give me the glory.

Psalms 50:15 (LIV)

Conclusion ... We should bring glory to God in every area of our life, including our financial management, even in our time of trouble.

 4. EARN AN HONEST LIVING ...

If anyone is stealing he must stop and begin using those hands of his for honest work.

Ephesians 4:28 (LIV)

Wealth from gambling quickly disappears: wealth from hard work grows. Proverbs 13: 11 (LIV)

Hard work means prosperity; only a fool idles away his time. Proverbs 12:11 (LIV)

A little gained honestly, is better than great wealth gotten by dishonest means. Proverbs 16:8 (LIV)

We can justify our every deed but God looks at our motives. Proverbs 21:2 (LIV)

Conclusion ... God honors hard work done honestly for the right motive.

 5. HONOR THE LORD ...

Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of all your income. Proverbs 3:9 (LIV)

Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase. Proverbs 3:9 (KJ)

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse ... and prove me now... if I will not open you the windows of

Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  Malachi 3:10 (KJ)

Despise God's Word and find yourself in trouble. Obey it and succeed. Proverbs 13:13 (LIV)

Conclusion ... We honor the Lord when we obey God and follow His word.

6. SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT ...

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's. Matthew 22:21 (KJ)

The Lord demands fairness in every business deal. He established this principle. Proverbs 16:11 (LIV)

Conclusion ... God demands that we be honest, just, and fair with Him, the government, our family and creditors ... in every relationship.

7. SAVE PART OF YOUR INCOME ...

The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets. Proverbs 21:20 (LIV)

Conclusion ... We are wise, if we spend less than we receive and save from our abundance for the future.

TWO REASONS FOR SAVING ...

1. PROVIDE FOR FAMILY: But anyone who won't care for his own relatives when they need help, especially those living in his own family, has no right to say he is a Christian.  / Timothy 5:8 (LIV)

2. GIVE TO THOSE IN NEED: Let him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labor working with his hands, the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.  Ephesians 4:28 (KJ)

8. STEPS TO GOOD MANAGEMENT ...

1.  MAKE PLANS: We should make plans - counting on God to direct us. Proverbs 16:9 (LlV)

2.  TRUST GOD: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 (KJ)

3.  GET ORGANIZED: But let all things be done properly and in an orderly manner. (A budget helps us to get organized.) / Corinthians 14:40 (NAS)

4.  GET THE FACTS: What a shame - yes, how stupid! - To decide before knowing the facts! (Get the facts first.) Proverbs 18:13 (LIV)

5.  SEEK COUNSEL: Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed. (God is our Almighty Counselor.) Proverbs 15:22 (NAS)

6. YOUR COMMITMENT: Commit your work to the Lord, then it will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 (LIV)

7. OBEY GOD: God blesses those who obey Him; happy the man who puts his trust in the Lord.  Proverbs 16:20 (LlV)

Conclusion ... When we follow these seven steps, God blesses and we enjoy.
